D&M raised $28,000 for KidsCan by auctioning large scale one-off prints from our 10-year collection archive.

Full Davines concept salon D&M celebrated 10 years in the industry by joining with KidsCan to raise funds for children in need. The project began with founders Danny Pato and Michael Sisaengrath selecting their favourite 30 images from D&M’s 10-year collection archive. With the assistance of PCL Imaging, these images became large scale framed one-off prints and made available to purchase in October last year, with 100% of the sale price going to the KidsCan charity.

This collection of images is the creative vision of Danny Pato, two-time winner of New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year (2016 and 2017). It is famed for being provocative, of striking concept, and breathtakingly beautiful. The heroine created is always powerful. She in charge of her sensuality and in command of her world. The images were captured by the late Craig Owen from 2007, then continued by the talented Mara Sommer from 2012. The local and international acclaim these works have received defines D&M as NZ’s leading luxury hair salon, showcasing the award-winning international talent they possess. Working with KidsCan, D&M gives back. The amount raised hopes to assist as many children in need as possible and get them through the upcoming winter.

“For all the love and generosity we’ve received in our 10 years, it was so important for us to give back too – and what better way to do it than to support NZ’s next generation through KidsCan.” – Danny Pato

“This project will help us continue our work in the 700 schools we support, to provide shoes, clothing, and health support for hundreds of kids, thanks to D&M and their generous clients who purchased these works of art.”
Julie Chapman, KidsCan
